Kimball Launches His 2009 Season

Kimball is preparing for the first race of the 2009 Firestone Indy Lights Championship
in St. Petersburg Florida and now there are even more ways to follow his progress
this year. The 24-year-old racing driver is pleased to announce the launch
of his exciting new website with a fresh look and expanded new content. For
even more up to the minute news, Kimball has officially joined the 'blogosphere'
where he will share his stories of travel, racing, diabetes management and
fun in his blog. He will also utilize other online tools such as Flickr and
Twitter to keep his fans 'on track' as he fights for the title in the 2009
Indy Lights series.
Charlie Kimball announced on March 24th he has signed with Palm Beach International
Raceway's Team PBIR to race in this year's Firestone Indy Lights championship.
Following that announcement, Kimball has spent three days in the PBIR car testing
and preparing for the first race, the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, April
3-5. Kimball has developed a strong working relationship with his race engineer
and the mechanics. The entire car crew is working hard to make this season
run seamlessly. The test days in the car have been crucial to making sure PBIR
and Kimball are up front from the first practice session in St. Petersburg
and throughout the entire season.
Kimball spoke of the testing, "I am very pleased with the progress made
over the three days of testing. We have made significant improvements to the
car and now I am ready to go racing - doing what I do best!"

Kimball will now head to the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, April 3-5. The race weekend is a double header with practice Friday morning and Qualifying for Race 1 on Friday afternoon. Then there will be Qualifying for Race 2 on Saturday morning with Race 1 of the Indy Lights Championship Saturday afternoon. Race 2 will be Sunday morning just before the Indy Car headline event in front of at least 75,000 fans! The Indy Lights Championship will be shown live online at www.IndyCar.com. Also, the race will be re-played in an hour-long show on Versus TV (www.Versus.com) Monday at 7 PM Eastern Time (4 PM Pacific).
